Revolutionary Wood Chip Gardening: Super-sized Vegetables – No Tilling, No Fertilizer, Less Weeds and 90-95% Less Water

Woodchip Farming

Paul Gautschi was raised as a gardener in California and grew all of his food with his family since as far back as he could remember.  Then, after getting married and having a family they packed up and moved to a rural homestead in Washington.  For years he had been rototilling the ground in his garden, and planting plants a few feet apart so he could rototill away the abundance of weeds that grew throughout the gardening season.  This left him feeling frustrated and exhausted from the enormous amount of labor it took to maintain, and when he asked God for help, his prayers were answered.

Paul noticed that forests near his house were completely self sustaining and never required any watering to grow lush and healthy trees.  He looked at the ground beneath his feet and realized forests always had decaying wood chips from fallen trees and other organic matter acting like a blanket over the soil.  In this way, the organic matter protected the soil and acted like a sponge for water, making it so that the soil below would always have sufficient water for the plants when they needed it.  He decided to follow God’s method of gardening and began piling wood chips into his garden.

After years of back-breaking toil in ground ravaged by the effects of man-made growing systems, Paul Gautschi has discovered a taste of what God intended for mankind in the garden of Eden. Some of the vital issues facing agriculture today include soil preparation, fertilization, irrigation, weed control, pest control, crop rotation, and PH issues. None of these issues exist in the unaltered state of nature or in Paul’s gardens and orchards.

“Back to Eden” invites you to take a walk with Paul as he teaches you sustainable organic growing methods that are capable of being implemented in diverse climates around the world.

Finally Gardening Made Simple!

The result, was 90-95% less water usage, no need to ever till the soil, no need for fertilizer because the wood chips would build healthy, nutrient-rich topsoil, and far less weeds.  When the weeds did end up growing, the soil bed in his garden was so soft that he could effortlessly pull out the entire plant by its root.  Now the plants in his garden grow healthy with very little work to maintain and every year, as the health of his soil improves, his gardens actually produce more food that’s even more nutritious than the year before.

To get yourself some wood chips for your garden, look for “tree cutting services” in your area.  Since tree-cutting companies have to pay to dump their wood chips at landfills, they will be more than happy to drop them off for free onto your driveway.  Give them a tip and say thanks and you’ve got yourself the healthiest and most time-saving ground cover for your garden.  Simply spread it across to protect your soil and the microbes, worms, and bacteria will break down the organic matter creating, fresh and healthy topsoil.  The nutrients created from the decomposition of the wood chips will wash down into the soil to feed your plants everytime it rains.
